Jonah went down to Joppa ... and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord (Jnh 1:3). Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm (Jnh 1:15). But the Lord provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights (Jnh 1:17). Jonah obeyed the word of God and went to Nineveh (Jnh 3:3).

Welcome! Here's a site for all of you to help you gain a more thorough understanding of the Old Testament prophet, called Jonah. You can study his Hebrew language, discover a lot of information about Israel and Nineveh, the place of his comission to preach repentance to the Assyrians.
As you know Jonah was swallowed by a great fish and sometimes you may feel yourself like Jonah in the fish's belly. Therefore, please feel free to visit the fish's belly to send your prayer request. Jonah understood and believed that salvation comes from the Lord!
In addition you can find here many useful links for your Christian growth. Enjoy browsing!

"Men have been looking so long at the great fish in Jonah that they have failed to see the great God of Jonah." — G. Campbell Morgan

"What you need to do is get the focus off the problems and back on God. Think about Jonah — now there's a guy literally swallowed by his problems! But God says, when your problems swallow you up, refocus on Him. Jonah finally learned this: he prayed, "When I had lost all hope, I turn my thoughts once more to the Lord." (Jonah 2:7)" — Rick Warren
